Fabulous Fabric Clutches

That’s the actual description of Catherine’s shop, FabByCab, home to a variety of handmade clutches.  I like Catherine’s roomy clutches and sumptuous linings.  Her linen clutch wristlets are exemplary little pieces of art.

Who doesn’t like this little birdie?

Got an empress on your Christmas list?  This inner lining is a perfect complement.  Just beautiful!

This OOAK clutch features Windsor Castle. Any Kate fans out there? 🙂

Lastly, Catherine just debuted many fabulous plaid clutches that are just in time for the holidays and the winter season.  You don’t have to a Scotsman to love these plaids!  They go well with jeans, red/grey/black sweater and black winter boots!

One of the many plaid clutches new to Catherine’s shop.

Go check Catherine’s shop out!  She’s got many ready to ship to you for holiday gift-giving!

Clutches with hand-finished OOAK fabric

Ok, so you want a truly unique gift for the holidays?  As part of my series to bring you the best collection of clutches, today I am highlighting two women who not only make their own clutches, but also hand finish the fabric with their own unique finishes.

Jan, of Jan and Paul Creations, is known for her butterflies on her clutches, pillows and scarves.  These are not ordinary pictures of butterflies though.  The ones on her fabric are enhanced digital prints from original photos that her husband, Paul, has photographed.   Customers absolutely love her original creations!

This reminds me of the blue Morpho butterfly. Gorgeous iridescent blue on this original hand-made clutch and fabric.

This is made with golden thread using four different layers to achieve this magnificent sheen.

The next clutch seller that I would like you to meet is Delores of Lella Rae.  The work that she puts into her clutches are simply mind-numbing.  She has clutches made from fabric that is hand-dyed, hand cross-stitched, and hand-embroidered.  My fingers and wrists are numb just thinking of the work that she lovingly puts into her clutches!

My friend Kelley, a dragonfly fanatic, would absolutely love this clutch! Look at the delicate hand-beading and lace work!

Have a music lover, pianist, or piano teacher in your life? This would be the perfect gift for that lucky person on your Christmas list!

There are many more clutches at both of their shops!  If you would like to see Jan’s and Delores’s selection of clutches available for sale, simply click on the pictures to get to their respective shops.

Speaking of Eiffel Tower, a place that my daughter has wanted to go since she was three years old, here’s another clutch featuring it.  For you Francophiles, this is a perfect holiday gift!  It’s made by Mona at Mona’s Box & Bags.  She also has some chevron makeup clutches and lots of other bags at her shop.  Mona will have a sale from Nov. 23 – 30th for 20% OFF.  Use the code BLACKFRIDAY2012 at her shop.

Mother’s Day clutches

Check out my latest album.  This one honors the mom on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13th.  Other than this one special day to celebrate mom, we often hear “Hi, MOM!” when TV cameras hone in on someone who’s on TV for the first time.  Why is it that our first instinct when caught in the big lights of TV cameras is to wave and scream “Hi, Mom?”  I’d like to think that the excitement of the deer-in-the-headlights feeling takes us to our core, to what’s important, and in many cases it’s the mom.  🙂  Why don’t we say “Hi dad?”  We do, but just in the minority.  The majority amongst us have the most contact with their mothers and feel closest to despite dad’s increased involvement in child rearing.

So you all know I support and honor women.  Whether you are a mom yourself, or yet to be, or are perfectly content with being aunty, this album’s for you!  I’m sure you’ll find several clutches in here for your shopping list.

Mother’s Day clutches album.

As for me, I’ve got a busy week ahead with my husband on yet another business trip.  My oldest is turning 10 (egad!) on Friday and another birthday party to attend… then Mother’s Day.  My wish is to wiggle my nose so that all my bills are paid, my piles of papers magically fly into the right folders in the filing cabinet, and I have time to get a leg wax and pedicure.  I’m looking kinda like a … sasquatch.  TMI?  😉  Well, one of those wishes will come true!

Have a great week and Happy Mother’s Day this weekend to all the moms out there!

Back in stock!

Alert for all those who have been asking and waiting so patiently …

Thank you, thank you, thank you … for all your support.  In the first 3 months of this year, I sold as many frames as I did 1/2 of last year! From small sales of 5 frames at a time to hundreds … I’ve grown my business a lot.  I have reinvested all this back into the business – save for a lunch out here or there!  🙂

Many of the big handbag makers ordered even more privately.  The feedback that I keep getting is “I’ve tried many frames, and yours is simply the best.”  “My clutches look so much better with your frames.”  So even these large handbag makers see the value in having consistently high quality frames that they can depend on. They know that they can save time by having dependable high-end, high-quality frames for their clutches and handbags.  They have also switched to using Gutermann glue after seeing how much time they saved using a quick-setting glue, how tight it bonds the fabric to the frame, and how quickly I can ship it out to them.

What’s back in stock: These sold out much more quickly than my forecast.  Thanks for being patient!!!  In addition, with my inventory criss-crossing the country in the back of a FedEx truck … that didn’t help either.  I will try my best to not be in a SOLD OUT position.

4.5x3s are back in!

Hi y’all!  (That’s from my livin’ in Oklahoma City.)

Just quick note to let all who asked about the 4.5x3s … they’re back!!

I do want to alert my long-time users of this size that the u-channel is smaller by a smidge.  For those with a really accurate caliper … less than .05mm.  It falls within the variance but it’s not exact as I would like.  There should not be any difference in the usage and functionality with that small of a variance.  You will not need to switch up your fabrics or interface.

But the finish is better so I went with these.  Every batch is different but the new plating company for nickel-free that I’ve been working with has just really done a splendid job with the finish!

Old batch on left. New batch on right.

LOVE these.  They are …  well, they are real and they are spectacular! (Name that show!)

Aren’t they so much shinier and brilliant???

Oh, swoon …  🙂
